THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT 17 DECEMBER 2017
- Today we are celebrating the third Sunday of Advent. Advent is a period in preparation for the commemoration of the dawn of our salvation through the Nativity of our Saviour. The third Advent candle – Pink in colour – is lit today and is referred to as Shepherds candle or Candle of JOY. It reminds us of the time when the Shepherds received the great news about the birth of our Saviour!It symbolizes JOY- a virtue that needs to be constantly experienced, displayed and nurtured.it is also time to share our joyful experience with the needy. In this effect we will share lunch with the needy Christians on Friday 22nd December at 10.00 a.m. We encourage all of you to give donations either in form of money or materials for the needy through the parish office during the week. This is in the spirit of Christmas
- Today is our parish Family Day. Our theme is ‘Family: A sign of Unity in our Diversity’. The 10.45 a.m. is being celebrated by His Eminence John Cardinal Njue. The following activities will take place: there will be special blessings for families at each mass, children will receive First Holy Communion and new Catechumens will be received. You can also access free medical services provided by different hospitals within the compound.
- Saturday 23rd and Sunday, 24th December 2017 – Masses will be as usual and confessions will be the whole day: From 6.00am to 6.00pm. Vigil Mass on Sunday 24th will start at 6.00 p.m. to be animated by the Youth. The Vigil mass will be preceded by One hour of Christmas Carols – Sung by the Christ Centered Choir
- Monday, 25th December 2017, Christmas Day order of Masses will be as follows 7. 00 a.m. – Kiswahili 8. 30 a.m – English 10. 00 a.m – Swahili 11. 30 a.m. – English His Eminence John Cardinal Njue will celebrate with us the 11.30 a.m. Mass. There will be no evening Mass.
- Tuesday 26th December 2017 will be a public holiday, there will be no confessions and the office will remain closed. There will be only one mass at 9.00am to be animated by lectors society.

- Don Bosco Technical Secondary School Embu is inviting applications for January 2018 form one intake before 27th December 2017. For more details check our noticeboard.
- Don Bosco Embu Technical Institute is inviting applications for those interested in pursuing courses in Building Construction and Mechanical Engineering. - The Archdiocese of Nairobi Parking project will commence with Excavation on 2nd January 2018. We are therefore notified that we will not be parking here at Basilica effective January 2018. Details of alternative parking for Sunday worshipers will be provide in due in course.
