SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT 10 DECEMBER 2017
- Today we are celebrating the second Sunday of Advent. Advent is a period in preparation for the commemoration of the dawn of our salvation through the Nativity of our Saviour. The second Advent candle – Purple in colour – is lit today and is referred to as Bethlehem candle or candle of preparation. It reminds us on the need to prepare ourselves to receive our Saviour with pure hearts. Let us all get reconciled with God and our fellow human beings.
- Today we are still receiving and blessing Tithe (10%). May God bless the work of your hands abundantly.
- Today Rev. Fr. Samuel Warari Ndotono is celebrating all masses in thanksgiving after his priestly ordination. We are invited to present our gifts to him in appreciation for the good work he is doing for the Church. We will also have a luncheon in his honour after the 11.30 a.m mass where Church groups will have an opportunity to present their gifts. Let us continue praying for and supporting him.
- We are encouraged to be visiting Holy Family Basilica website holyfamilybasilica.info. The website contains Parish history, daily mass readings, mass sermons, articles, mass schedule, up to date Church news, Church group profiles among other important resources.
- We are all encouraged to read the Bible to be more enlightened in our faith. This week we are reading with our families the book of Wisdom Chapter eighteen.

This will be marked with the Eucharistic celebrations with children receiving First Holy Communion and fifty new Christians/catechumens being received.
